Naperville was founded in 1831 by Captain Joseph Naper and was incorporated in 1890. It is approximately 36 square miles and supports an estimated population of 134,700. There are eight fire stations, one police station, 448 miles of streets, two libraries, and city-owned electric and water utilities.
